Talamanca is one of the last places on earth where rainforest meets oceanfront. Playa Chiquita, your nearest beach, is a short walk down a shaded jungle path.

Costa Rica protects more than a quarter of its land. Talamanca is one of its richest corridors — sloths, jaguars, scarlet macaws, leatherback turtles, with one of the world's highest density of biodiversity.

Caribbean Rhythm

Slower than the rest of Costa Rica.

Puerto Viejo runs on a different clock. Bribri, Afro-Caribbean, and Tico cultures meet in a town of bikes, coral, calypso, rice and beans, and the slow tropics.
